A Time to Shine

A Time to Shine

With the holiday season in full swing; shopping, baking, wrapping, gift giving, and parties, it’s speeding past like a bullet train.

What could cheer you up, but your own little bit of sparkle.

While sequins, lurex, lame’ and beads have traditionally been relegated to only the holidays, that has changed. Like so many fashion traditions, no white after Labor Day, don’t wear black to a wedding, the reality is fashion is just not so serious now.

Like the little girls that want to wear the princess dresses, we big girls love a little sparkle. Look to add some fun to your wardrobe this season by picking up a tee shirt with Lurex threading, a metallic bomber jacket, metallic star embellishment on a denim shirt, beading on a cozy sweatshirt, and a simple silk blouse with metal studs, shining is a hallmark of the season!

To best execute the sparkle/metallic trend, keep in mind it’s best to mix sparkle with a nonmetallic look. Wearing a great pair of denim with a metallic jacket makes for a great day look. Heading to work with a beautiful pencil skirt and silk blouse with metallic cuff detail is a winning look.

Having fun with fashion gives us the chance to personalize our own unique style. Spring will be upon us sooner than you think, and the sparkle trend will continue.
